Water Well Drilling in Saskatchewan

There is a common attitude in Saskatchewan among those in the water well drilling industry.  “If this works, why do better?..... “

What we asked ourselves, how can I make this better? How can we do it more effectively and efficiently?  In honest truth we use as many advantages as we can to provide the best product possible. It means investing in quality equipment (modern elogs that use SP,SPR and Gama), and investigating modern  practices (like solid mud management to remove particles/material that can be problematic).  We use techniques that may be a bit time-consuming but provide a better product in the end.

When we started drilling nearly 18 years ago, we were young. We saw the need to go a different route than our drilling competition. We observed what struggles they were having by the repair calls we received and decided to implement a higher quality of drill process. That was the beginning, 18 years ago. We searched for quality equipment on the market and ended up custom fabrication for what we wanted. Instead of 2 de-silting and de-sanding.  We ordered 5. We fabricated our own system of mud handling based on the unique needs of Saskatchewan. What we made was an effective quality machine that was not only is efficient at getting rid of mud waste and keeping drill sites clean and tidy for drillers and our clients. We also can create a well product that was affordable for clients and helped us to keep costs down, while providing the type of reliable service, and well product that we were seeking. Creating a Wolverine Well... 65 years from now, I expect to be dead.  Clients and family of clients will still be saying.  “Our Wolverine Well is a dam good well!”

Traditional drilling methods are methods that can be successful in some situations, just not all and the degrees of a successful well can be variable. Example:  If a formation has the rated potential to do 10-15 gal per minute and a driller gets you 3 or 4 gal per minute. Or produces 5-6 with silt.   Yes, the well was successful compared to a seam missed or no water. Yet there was still lots of room for improvement. Yielding the highest clean water product available is the key. We can’t guarantee, 10-15 but we can sure try to eliminate any complications caused by excess silt and sands in the mud while drilling, always using the most appropriate screens rather than the alternative of using what is handy. Some choose the second method knowing it is not necessarily the best choice.

18 years later.  We have not looked back. Rather we continue to push for better.
