Water is a unique resource that can be both problematic and is frequently the ‘sought-after’ target. It is critical to maintain the integrity of the aquifer throughout the drilling process and utilize the best of the formation ( to the inch ) and produce a well to the highest standard available.

They use similar materials but have a different drilling application. Oil and gas drillers are often told where, how deep and what muds to use by geologists. Oil and gas drillers use steel casing and perforate the casing with explosives.

Water dell drillers must be their own consultant. They make their own well design based on variable changes to lithology, aquifer formation, water quality, perimeters required for the well. There is not a “one size fits all” application. Water well drillers are their own geologist and require historical references with an understanding of geological deposits to best utilize the aquifer. Water well drillers are also mud mixing experts. Different water qualities make different drilling mud qualities with different results. The mud results can impact the well production negativity and effect pump rates, and water well quality.
