Investment Cost To Drill A Water Well

The investment cost to drill a water well and provide a reliable water supply is never a waste of financial resources. The reality is, it is a utility service that increases the property value more than the costs of the actual drilling. I know it sounds like a sales pitch, but this is why banks like reliable wells.  Often proof of water is a requirement in many land sales and having a proven well gives a general ‘blank slate’ a foundation to build on. It is a desirable asset that increases the value of the land and done properly, it can be multigenerational.

After 15 years of successfully drilling for water, we have come to realize that drilling costs such as fuel, raw materials and labour are always on the rise and as Canadians, we are contingent on the American dollar more than I would personally like because of one simple fact.  All goods, including the raw materials, are manufactured elsewhere like in the USA. Some are also manufactured in China, then distributed to the USA eventually finding its way to Canada. With the drilling market being driven by another currency, one needs to work very hard to stay as cost-effective as possible without passing of crap materials and cutting corners.  For us this means manufacturing/customizing/maintain our own equipment to streamline drilling and pass savings on. We also work to use the highest grade/standard of materials at large order pricing to help keep costs low.   Why keep 30ft of screens when you can keep 75ft or 100ft in your own in-house inventory. We will use them regardless.  When picking up the casing, we pick up full lifts of the casing to reduce costs of transport and loss of drill time. Clients depend on us to be as efficient as possible so when transportation of materials is a necessity, why not pick up more rather than less. Investing in a water well now is not as costly as you might consider.  Our prices have not changed since 2007, yet I can assure you material and expenses have increased every year.  You might ask yourself why we work so hard to keep costs low.
